Seize the Grey

The 2024 Preakness Champion, Seize the Grey was born on April 20, 2021. This striking grey colt was purchased by my Racehorse in 2022 at the Saratoga yearling sale. 2570 micro-shares were sold to enthusiastic fans including myself and my husband! He was sired by Arrogate out of the Smart Strike mare Smart Shopping. Trained by U.S Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lucas, he began his racing career ridden by jockey Jaime Torres. Winning his first graded stakes in the G2 Pat Day Mile on Kentucky Derby Day in 2024, Seize the Grey went on to a thrilling wire to wire win in the 2024 Preakness. Next was his win in the 2024 Pennsylvania Derby which brought his earnings to $2,425,938 to become the highest earning son of Arrogate. Seize the Grey now resides at Gainesway Farm in Lexington, Kentucky for his new career at stud.
We look forward to seeing his offspring on the race track!
